Educo will be a grand new adventure for me and I’m looking forward to experiencing everything that Educo has to offer with an open heart & mind. I’ve attended and worked at various camps in the past and a “camp” sense of community is what I strive to recreate in all walks of life now. Nowhere else in my life have I felt such profound community support as at camp.
I’ve always been a bit of a nature junkie, and lately I have taken to sharing this love of the outdoors with kids in the form of a naturefocused day camp that my two friends and I developed. We’re called the “Kootenay Nature Detectives,” and we basically just get to be stoked and curious all day long. I will most definitely sing you the theme song someday. Outdoor education is where it’s at!
Besides camp, kids, and nature, what more can I tell you about myself?
I graduated from McGill University with a degree in Geography and through this experience, I can tell you everything you want to know about the Montreal fun times scene (and a little about maps, too). I grew up on a farm outside of Drumheller, Alberta, where I developed a passion for dinosaurs and freshly grown food. Lately, I’ve made my home in the little mountain town of Rossland, BC, where besides hanging out with kids, I am an avid skier, mountain biker, writer, and huckleberry picker. I love climbing trees, making food on camp fires, and looking up at the sky.
