It only took seeing the open house at the end my brother’s first Educo course in 2005 to convince me that this was where I needed to be. My following years as a student and staff at Educo have been full of self-realization and life-changing experiences, which have largely shaped who and where I am today.
Twelve years later I hold a Bachelor of Education, and teach on call in the Cariboo School District. This past summer I had the pleasure of taking on a new role at Educo and bringing another of my passions to life as Kitchen Coordinator. While I missed the incredible mountain experiences and group mentality of my previous Educo summers as a Course Instructor, I was quite happy to leave my hiking boots stashed away at the bottom of my closet for a little while. 🙂
When I’m not in the kitchen or a classroom, or spending time with friends and family, I am probably sitting somewhere quiet with a book or some music and enjoying a nice view. One of my personal favourites? The Educo site and Little Holden Lake, as seen from the back porch of Educo’s main cabin.
