Brodie Drake

Educo Adventure School - Board Member, Brodie DrakeI joined the board last year for a 1-year term and I am hooked; I want to continue this work. Contributing as a member-at-large, I have also been engaged with the finance committee and chairing the site development committee.

I wish to do this work because I deeply believe that what Educo has to offer our young people, our families and our communities is unique and necessary, and it is a genuine contribution for dealing with the issues and problems we are experiencing (and will be) as a people in this point in history. I am dedicated to the well-being of Educo as an organization so that it may grow and mature in response to the needs of our communities.

I have been involved in child and youth care work for the past 15 years, and my curiosity for it has been deepened by my experience as an Educo staff member from 2004-2010. I have worked with a range of ages (3-21 year olds) in a variety of settings with young people, from clinical counselling to working in preschools. I currently work as a child and youth care worker at Ballenas Secondary School in Parksville, BC.
